TELUS Bursaries

PURPOSE OF THE TELUS BURSARIES

To provide five (5) scholarships of $1,000 each towards post-secondary education for ringette players and coaches who have demonstrated a strong commitment to the sport of ringette or are participating in the 2012 Tim Hortons Canadian Ringette Championships. 

TELUS will offer bursaries in the follow categories:

Canadian Ringette Championship Athlete - Two (2) bursaries will be awarded to athletes competing at the 2012 Tim Hortons Canadian Ringette Championships who have also demonstrated a strong involvement in their local ringette community.  

Athlete - Two (2) bursaries will be awarded to athletes who are not competing at the 2012 Tim Hortons Canadian Ringette Championships who have demonstrated a strong involvement in their local ringette community.  

Coach - One (1) bursary will be awarded to a coach who who has demonstrated a strong involvement in their local ringette community.   

Recipients will receive a scholarship award certificate recognizing their achievements.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Bursary funds must be applied to the academic year for which the scholarship was awarded.  Ringette Canada is unable to grant requests to defer scholarships from one academic year to the next.


WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Application for a TELUS Bursary may be made by:

  • ringette players registered with one of Ringette Canada’s provincial/territorial member associations,
  • NCCP-certified ringette coaches

 

who will be enrolled full-time in a recognized post-secondary education institution for the next academic year.

Applicants must meet the admission standards of the educational institution specified, which must be a university, college or other educational institution located in Canada providing courses at a post-secondary school level. 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  • Applications must be sent to scholarships@ringette.ca.
  • Subject line must read: Bourses d’études / Scholarship Awards – your name. 
  • Application and supporting documents must be compiled into one (1) file. (PDF format preferred)
  • Application file name must be: your name
  • Applications sent via hard copy to the Ringette Canada office will not be accepted. 

Ringette Canada will not release scholarship funds until proof of the following has been provided: 

  • registration as a full-time student at a Canadian university for the next academic year, and
 

Applications must be received in the Ringette Canada Office by March 31.

TELUS Canadian Ringette Championship Athlete Bursaries
 will be announced at the 2012 Tim Hortons Canadian Ringette Championship closing ceremony on April 14th, 2012. 

TELUS Athlete and Coach Bursaries will be announced on June 1st, 2012.
