Goalie Helmets
There is currently only one goalie helmet an mask combination approved by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). It is manufactured by the Oldfield Sports Group, for use in ringette.
This helmets, which carries the product name “Olie”, is classified by the model number MR2000.
An “Olie” wire grid is approved by CSA for ringette: the Type C face protector, Model CR01. Please note that this grid is certified for use ONLY with the aforementioned “Olie” goal helmets. It is not approved as a retrofit for helmets produced by any other manufacturer.
It should be noted that there are other goalie helmets and masks for purchase, however, only the combination mentioned above is certified by the CSA.
Ringette Sticks
Due to the high volume of inquiries regarding new ringette sticks currently being released into the sports market, we are releasing the following information to notify members, players and the general public of Ringette Canada's procedure regarding ringette sticks..
It is the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure their stick conforms to the specifications in the Ringette Canada Rule Book.
Ringette Canada does not approve models of sticks for play. As Ringette Canada does not have the means to verify the accuracy and consistency of each manufacturer's process of factory, we cannot be certain that all versions of a model will be the same as the sample we might evaluate.
We are aware that members of the ringette community do come across sticks in stores but cannot be sure the sticks are legal. Given the constraints noted above, Ringette Canada cannot guarantee that any particular stick is legal without having a certified official view it first. Therefore, we encourage all buyers to be vigilant and to get assurances from the retailer that the stick can be returned should it be deemed ‘illegal’.
The stick specifications can be found in
Section 4 of the Official Rules and Case Book.
Goalie Equipment
The Goaltender Trapper specifications from the Official Rules book are found as follows;

- NAMI Keely Signature Series Ringette Trapper
Please note that as with sticks, Ringette Canada reviews equipment sent to us by manufacturers. The equipment listed here have been looked at and have been deemed appropriate by the Officiating committee of Ringette Canada. Again, please note that this does not mean that this equipment is 'approved' but rather the individual prototypes sent by manufacturers have met the acceptable standards appropriate for game play. Likewise, sticks and other equipment that are not on this list may be legal, this list simply indicates those that have been evaluated by the Officiating Committee.
