Participating in Come Try Ringette
What is ringette and why play it?
Ringette is a uniquely Canadian winter sport that's played on the ice or in the gym "gym ringette". While ringette looks a bit like hockey, it has some very distinct differences – making it the fastest game on ice. The main goal of ringette is to use a stick to shoot a ring into the opposing team's goal. The team with the highest score at the end wins.
There are many reasons to play ringette. Including that ringette:
- Encourages team play
- Has a safe, no-contact policy
- Offers competitions and events for every skill level, such as Come Try Ringette events, recreational leagues, competitive leagues, university teams and National and International competitions
- Promotes athletic development (using the principles of the Long-Term Athlete Development model) and fosters personal growth
- Is fun and fulfilling at any age!
