Delphine Aguiar
“My name is Delphine Aguiar. I am 4 feet, 11 inches and I have been playing with the U16AA Laurentides for two seasons. I have been training at the Académie de Ringuette in the Sport-Études program since 2013. This allows me to have a better technique in my skating, to improve my stick handling, and my execution speed. I’m always serious about my training, both on and off the ice. I always follow the advice and suggestions from my coaches. I ask questions when my technique is not perfect. The hundreds of hours of training allowed me to contribute to the success of my team at the 2016 Canadian Ringette Championships in London. No words can describe this experience. The atmosphere was magic and we had a perfect record: ten wins in ten games! It was an unforgettable experience to have the chance to play against Canada’s top players. I realized I was able to surpass my limits. To all those who told me I was too small to play AA…I managed to show them they were wrong. My passion for this sport is so strong that nothing can stop me, not even my size.” – Delphine Aguiar (St-Eustache, Québec)
