“I started playing ringette at the age of 10 in Saint-Eustache. Then my family moved to Gatineau, where I continued to play and I also began officiating and scorekeeping. After a few years, I decided that officiating was not for me, but I continued scorekeeping because I enjoyed it. Then after a few injuries, I had to stop playing ringette and take care of my health. I continued to get involved with my local association and became a shot clock operator and have been doing that ever since the shot clock was implemented to ringette. For a few years, I was also in charge of the minor officials for my association, and I also did some coaching. This allowed me to share my passion for ringette with the young people of my region, stay involved and give back to my sport! Now I spend my time working as a shot clock operator and developing other shot clock operators. For the past three years, I have been fortunate to have been selected as a shot clock operator for the Canadian Ringette Championships and work with the best officials in Canada. I love participating in ringette games at all levels because it allows me to stay active in the sport and share my passion with my twin brother and many extraordinary friends!” – Nancy Desfonds (Gatineau, Quebec)
