“I began playing ringette in Rockland, Ontario when I was 12 years old. I continue to play and now I am also the Executive Director of Ringette Canada. It was very exhilarating to start leading the organization that governs the sport that I have enjoyed as a player for so many years. I am grateful to have been given this opportunity, and I really try to be in the moment every day through our work, and allow this opportunity to empower who I am as a professional. I’ve always been humbled by the fact that I have built a career in something I am passionate about, and I feel very lucky each day. If I was to pick a favourite ringette moment, I would have a very hard time because I have so many. I gain so much from experiencing and feeling moments of pure exhilaration and raw emotion. Whether it’s having the privilege of witnessing the work ethic of our national team athletes as they vie for the title of world champion; seeing the mom who has lovingly lugged her daughter to and from the rink for years finally decide to lace up the skates herself; or seeing all the coaches and officials across this country give so much of their time in order to make the experience of others memorable, it all moves me.” – Natasha Johnston (Greely, Ontario)
