Halifax selected to host the 2027 Canadian Ringette Championships
Halifax, Nova Scotia—Ringette Canada is pleased to announce it has selected Halifax as the location for the 2027 Canadian Ringette Championships. The 2027 event will be the sport’s 47th national championship and the third time Halifax will host. Halifax previously hosted the 2007 and 1999 events, while nearby Dartmouth hosted in 1982.
“The Halifax host committee’s bid was innovative and creative, demonstrating their ability to host an incredible event on the east coast,” said Shelley Coolidge, Sport Director. “Athletes and fans will be treated to a great event, and we know that famous East Coast hospitality will be out in full force at the 2027 event.”
The event will be held from March 28 to April 3 and will see the best teams from across the country compete in three divisions – U16, U19, and the National Ringette League (NRL). Venues will be announced closer to the competition.
“The Harbour City Lakers Ringette Association are thrilled to bring the Canadian Ringette Championships back to Nova Scotia in 2027 and we look forward to welcoming these inspirational athletes, coaches and officials to our beautiful city,” said Karen Hicks, President of the Harbour City Lakers and co-chair of the host committee.
“This is an amazing opportunity for us to not only showcase the sport we are so passionate about, but also to continue to grow ringette at a grassroots level in this province,” said Allison Stewart, Director of Fundraising and Sponsorship of the Harbour City Lakers and co-chair of the host committee. “We are excited to work with the greater ringette community in Nova Scotia and our partners who will join us in creating a memorable event for both participants and spectators.”
The 2026 championships will be held March 29 – April 4 in Ottawa, Ont.
