National Ringette League announces annual award finalists

Ottawa, Ontario – April 4, 2022 – The National Ringette League (NRL) today announced the nominees for its annual awards program. The awards program recognizes the performance of NRL athletes during regular season play with trophies for Rookie of the Year, Most Valuable Player, Top Forward, Top Centre, Top Defense, and Top Goalkeeper. These awards, along with awards for Coaching Staff of the Year, NRL Top Scorer and NRL Scoring Champion will be announced on April 9, 2022.

Nominees for the NRL awards include the following:

Rookie of the Year (the most outstanding athlete in their first year of NRL competition)

Mégane Fortin – Montreal Mission

Maddy Galeski – Calgary Rath

Emma Kelly – Nepean Ravens

Most Valuable Player (the athlete judged to be the most valuable to their team)

Shaundra Bruvall – Calgary RATH

Jenny Snowdon – Atlantic Attack

Kelsey Youldon – Waterloo Wildfire

Top Centre (the most outstanding athlete that played predominantly the centre position)

Émily Chénier – Gatineau Fusion

Kaitlyn Youldon – Calgary RATH

Kelsey Youldon – Waterloo Wildfire

Top Forward (the most outstanding athlete that played predominantly forward position)

Alanna Lesperance – Manitoba Herd

Britney Snowdon – Atlantic Attack

Chantal St-Laurent – Gatineau Fusion

Top Defense (the most outstanding athlete that played predominantly the defense position)

Paige Lanteigne (Nosal) – Cambridge Turbos

Rachel Ung – Calgary RATH

Julie Vandal – Gatineau Fusion

Top Goalkeeper (the most outstanding goalkeeper)

Brea Beck – Calgary RATH

Jasmine Leblanc – Atlantic Attack

Cam Schnarr – Waterloo Wildfire

Team Personnel of the Year (the most outstanding coaching staff group of the year, this award is voted on by the teams)
