Ottawa selected to host the 2026 Canadian Ringette Championships

Ottawa, Ontario – Ringette Canada is pleased to announce it has selected Ottawa as the location for the 2026 Canadian Ringette Championships. The 2026 event will be the 46th national championship for the sport and the second consecutive year that Ottawa will host. The Ottawa region also hosted the 1996 event, as well as the 2007 World Ringette Championships.

“The Ottawa host committee presented a compelling bid package for hosting two consecutive events, which will allow us to amplify the participant experience and have a truly world-class event,” said Shelley Coolidge, Sport Director. “We know that athletes and fans will have a memorable experience in the nation’s capital, and we look forward to delivering an outstanding event in 2026.”

The event will be held March 29 – April 4 and will see the best teams from across the country compete in three divisions – U16, U19, and the National Ringette League (NRL). Venues will be announced closer to the competition.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be entrusted with hosting the Canadian Ringette Championships in Ottawa for two years in a row,” said JF Bordeleau, President of CORA – City of Ottawa Ringette Association.

“We have an enthusiastic and dedicated team of volunteers who can’t wait to showcase our National Capital Region to the players, coaches, family and friends who will be here in 2025 and again in 2026,” said Kristian Ewen, co-chair of the 2025/26 Canadian Ringette Championships Host Committee.

“The plans are already in place to make sure that 2025 will be a truly memorable experience for all involved, and we know we can add even more to the event in 2026 to create an amazing atmosphere to cheer everyone on,” said Phyllis Bergmans, co-chair of the 2025/26 Canadian Ringette Championships Host Committee. “Thanks to our partner Ottawa Tourism for their support to make this bid possible and the many sponsors who have stepped forward to work with us to showcase the ‘fastest game on ice’!”

The 2025 championships will be held March 30 – April 5 in Ottawa, Ont.
