Ottawa Tourism collaborates with Canadian Ringette Championships for 2025 and 2026 events
Ottawa, ON–Ringette Canada is pleased to announce that a collaboration has been established between Ottawa Tourism and the City of Ottawa Ringette Association (CORA) that will have a tremendous impact on bringing the 2025 and 2026 Canadian Ringette Championships to the nation’s capital.
Ottawa Tourism is providing essential funding, marketing expertise, and event support to ensure the championships are a resounding success. This partnership aims to not only deliver an exceptional experience for participants, families and spectators but also to highlight the unique offerings of the National Capital Region to the best ringette teams from across the country.
Ottawa’s reputation as a world-class destination for sporting events makes it the perfect host for the CRCs. With state-of-the-art facilities, a rich cultural landscape, and a welcoming atmosphere, Ottawa provides an unmatched backdrop for athletes, coaches, and fans alike. Beyond the rink, participants and visitors will have the opportunity to explore iconic landmarks such as Parliament Hill, the Rideau Canal, and vibrant local neighborhoods, making their stay a memorable one.
“The partnership between Ottawa Tourism and Ringette Canada is a game-changer for the Canadian Ringette Championships,” said Jake Clarke, Ringette Canada’s Sport and Events Coordinator. “Bringing this premier event to the nation’s capital will deliver an unforgettable experience for athletes and fans alike, set against the vibrant backdrop of Ottawa. It’s more than a championship—it’s a chance to celebrate the spirit of ringette, inspire the next generation, and leave a lasting legacy for the sport across the country.”
“Ottawa Tourism is glad to partner with Ringette Canada to host the Canadian Ringette Championships, a premier event featuring over 800 athletes that highlights the best of sport and community. By providing marketing expertise and event support, we aim to ensure an unforgettable experience for participants, families, and fans, while also showcasing all that Ottawa has to offer,” said Michael Crockatt, President and CEO of Ottawa Tourism.
“The impact of an event like this one extends far beyond the economic benefits. While we welcome the boost to our local economy as participants, families, and fans stay in our hotels, dine in our restaurants, and explore our iconic attractions, the championships also create a lasting legacy for our community. Major women’s sporting events like these inspire local residents, introducing them to the sport of ringette and sparking new passions in youth and adults alike, while embodying the values of dedication, excellence, and healthy lifestyles.
“This event strengthens our city’s reputation as a vibrant destination for sports tourism and underscores our commitment to fostering partnerships that leave a lasting, positive impact on our community.”
The 2025 and 2026 CRCs will bring together 49 teams across the U16, U19, and National Ringette League divisions, injecting significant economic activity into the region. With teams, officials, and fans traveling to Ottawa, the championships are projected to boost local businesses, from hotels and restaurants to transportation and retail. This event also serves as a platform to showcase Ottawa’s ability to host large-scale, high-caliber events, strengthening its profile as a premier destination for national and international competitions. Through this partnership, Ringette Canada and Ottawa Tourism are poised to create an unforgettable experience that celebrates sport and the community.
