Ringette Canada appoints new Chief Executive Officer
Ottawa, ON– Ringette Canada is delighted to announce Peter Leyser has accepted the role of Chief Executive Officer and will begin with the organization on February 10th.
Peter has been the Executive Director of Boccia Canada for the past nine years, leading the National Sport Organization in Board governance, strategic and operational planning, policy, programming, financial management, talent management, partnerships and stakeholder relations, marketing and communications. Previous to that, he was Associate Director, Business Development with the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sports (CCES), responsible for growing non-federal government revenue. Peter has also spent 11 years with the National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA), leading a group purchasing program for 1,200 golf courses across the country.
“I am truly honoured and absolutely thrilled to be moving into this leadership role with Ringette Canada,” Leyser said. “With the talented and dedicated staff and Board, the culture within the ringette community, and the ICARE values of Ringette Canada, I am excited to be joining the team and a distinctively Canadian sport.”
Peter is currently a member of the Interim National Safe Sport Working Group, and the Summer Sport Caucus Executive. He is a graduate of the University of Windsor (Sports Administration) and University of Ottawa (Masters of Sports Administration).
