Ringette Canada appoints new interim Sports Director
We are delighted to welcome Shelley Coolidge to the team as the interim Sport Director. With this new title, Shelley will take over programs, coaching and officiating projects.
Shelley was born and raised in Saskatchewan and then pursued Education at the University of Saskatchewan. Following her lengthy coaching career, she went on to Algonquin College and obtained a Masters Certificate in Human Resources.
Shelley has long been an independent contractor with Ringette Canada and has an impressive and successful track record of being a Master Coach Developer and Coach Evaluator within our ringette programs. Shelley is a Mentor Coach with Ringette Canada’s 2022 Junior National Team, with the Coaching Association of Canada’s Women in Coaching, with the Canadian Pacific Sport Institute Advanced Coaching Diploma and Masters in Coaching Program, with a variety of Multi-Sport Coaches and with the International Ice Hockey Federation delivering Female Sport Development Programs She has also been involved in Commonwealth Games as a Mission Staff, (Gold Coast, Australia), COC Staging Mission Staff in 2002 and Canada Games Manager of Coach House, as well as the Canada Games Sport Lead in ‘99. She has also been involved in Canada Games as an Official ’95, and as a Coach 2003.
Shelley has also been heavily involved in the development of student sport. She was part of a small group that started Women’s Hockey in the ACAC (Alberta College Athletic Association). She spent 20 years as the Head Coach and General Manager USport and Canadian Colleges (3x Coach of the Year) and was the President of USport Women’s Hockey Coaching Association. Shelley was a coach of Team Canada at the inaugural World University Games and was the Manager for Female Hockey and Female Events for Hockey Canada. She is the owner and CEO of Cool Edge Consulting.
