Ringette Canada hosts High Performance Challenge Cup in Calgary

Ottawa, Ontario – May 8, 2019 – Ringette Canada announced today that it will be hosting its third HighPerformance Challenge Cup from May 9-12 in Calgary, Alberta. The event brings the top senior national team prospects together to train, compete and learn about Ringette Canada’s High Performance programs and philosophies.

“The Challenge Cup environment provides an excellent forum for our athletes, coaches and officials to continuously improve,” said Barb Bautista, Team Canada head coach. “This series represents an opportunity to foster this high-performance growth and we are excited for the upcoming camp.”

While participation in the Challenge Cups is not mandatory for eligibility for selection to Team Canada, these events are highly valued by Team Canada staff both as important scouting and evaluation opportunities, critical training opportunities for athletes to gain valuable game experience in a highly competitive environment, as well as opportunities for eventual Team Canada members to gel as lines and become familiar with various Team Canada systems.

For ringette fans in the area, the following schedule of games is open to the public. All games will take place at WinSport, Arena B (88 Canada Olympic Road SW) and admission is free.

Friday, May 10: 7-9pm
Saturday, May 11: 7-9pm
Sunday, May 12: 11:00-1:00pm
