Senior national team roster announced
Ottawa, ON – August 12, 2019 –Ringette Canada is pleased to announce its senior national team roster that will compete at the 2019 World Ringette Championships taking place in Burnaby, BC from November 25 to December 1, 2019. The 22 athletes were named following a selection camp that was held in Edmonton, Alberta from July 25-28.
“We have an incredible group of athletes that are game changers, who complement each other on and off the ice and who individually have the passion and desire to be better at every opportunity,” said Barb Bautista, head coach, Ringette Canada’s senior national team.

Barb Bautista (Ottawa, ON) leads the senior national team as head coach, along with assistant coaches Carly Ross (Edmonton, AB), Alexis Snowdon (Edmonton, AB), Sharolyn Wouters (Port Perry, ON) and Keely Brown (Kitchener, ON). Carl Nienhuis (Chilliwack, BC) is the team’s mental performance consultant, Connie Klassen (Victoria, BC) is the head athletic therapist and Jocelyn MacLeod (Winnipeg, MB) is the team manager.

There are currently over 31,000 players on nearly 2,000 teams across Canada, with over 1,500 officials and nearly 8000 coaches. Ringette has been designated a Heritage Sport by Sport Canada and as part of the Sport for Life movement, ringette is well advanced at adapting Sport Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development model.
